DAY 01: ARRIVAL TO LIMA

Assistance on your arrival in Lima and transfer to hotel. Free time to rest.

DAY 02: LIMA / CUSCO

Am. Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the airport.

Am. Arrival in Cusco.

Reception and transfer to the hotel, welcome with a coca tea.

CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS

Between 13:00 and 13:20 pick up the passengers at the hotels, then we will start visiting the city and nearby ruins: the tour will show us the amazing colonial city built on Inca bases; the cathedral, Renaissance structure with fine paintings “Cusco School”; and the Koricancha or Sun Temple.

We will continue visiting the four ruins near Cusco: Sacsayhuaman (Great fortress located 5 km from the city), QENQO (sacred amphitheater and center of worship the God Puma, where human sacrifices were made), PUCAPUCARA and TAMBOMACHAY (temple to worship the water). Return to the hotel.

DAY 03: SACRED VALLEY TOUR / AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

Pick up at the hotel at 08:00 am. to start the Sacred Valley tour, we will visit the archaeological site of Pisac and then the Town of Pisac, a picturesque village, after we will visit on the way the Towns of Ccoya, Lamay, Calca and Urubamba, in the last place we will have a buffet lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the village of Ollantaytambo, where we will see the Archaeological Park of Ollantaytambo, it was a gigantic complex in the time of the Incas. After that we will take the train to the Town of Aguas Calientes. Reception and transfer to the Hotel.

DAY 04: FULL DAY MACHUPICCHU

In the morning after breakfast transfer to the bus station, there we will take the bus to the Lost City of the Incas, “Machu Picchu”, where we will enjoy a guided tour of the main buildings of the citadel as El Mirador, Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, the Main Plaza, etc. This visit will allow us to appreciate the high level of development of andean civilization through the Incas.

P.m. Return to Aguas Calientes by bus.

P.m. Take the train to Cusco.

DAY 05: CUSCO / LIMA

Am. Transfer to Cusco airport.

Am: Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to the hotel.

14:20 HRS. LIMA CITY TOUR.

ANCESTRAL LIMA: We will begin our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pyramid Pucllana” magnificent ceremonial and archeological center built in the fourth century A.C. and considered “holy people” by the Incas.

COLONIAL LIMA: We will visit the Historic Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, highlighting the Paseo de la Republica, San Martin Square, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Basilica Cathedral, City Hall among others.

We will visit the MUSEUM OF CENTRAL RESERVE BANK *, where you will appreciate the “Collection Treasures of Peru”, a fine selection of gold objects, ceramics and textiles of various pre-Columbian cultures. Further it appreciates the MONUMENTAL SET OF SAN FRANCISCO, which is the largest sample of colonial religious art in America, which highlights the visit to its underground crypts known as “Catacombs”.

CONTEMPORARY LIMA: We will know the most traditional residential areas of Lima, El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores and Larcomar.

18:30 hrs: Return to the hotel.

DAY 06: LIMA – JAEN – CHACHAPOYAS.

Arrival to Jaen. Transfer from the airport to the city of Chachapoyas Accommodation in Chachapoyas.

DAY 07: TOUR KUELAP FORTRESS.

In the morning, we will go to Kuelap, a majestic architectural site built by Chachapoyas. On our way, we will make a stop to have a panoramic view of the Macro Archaeological, also known as “Macro Towers” for its design characteristics; it is located on the side of a hill overlooking Utcubamba river. Then we will go to the starting point towards Kuelap, we will climb on horseback or on foot to the “Fortress”, which is built on top of Cerro Barreta (3000 m. a. s. l.). It is a place surrounded by beautiful landscapes; at first, it seems inaccessible since it is protected by colossal walls and cliffs on three of its four sides. It has three platforms and inside they have circular buildings decorated with rhomboidal and zigzag friezes. Its complex interior architecture indicates it was a well-organized population group. The surrounding landscape and the natural scenarios make it unforgettable. We will return to Choctamal for lunch. Return to Chachapoyas.

DAY 08: TOUR QUIOCTA AND KARAJIA.

In the morning, we will go to Cruz Pata town, and then, we will continue towards the burial site of Karajia. We will enjoy a panoramic view of Luya’s main square along the way. Cruz Pata, known as the Crosses Plateau, is the starting point of our journey by foot or horse to get to Karajia; it takes 30 min. approximately. We will see Karajia sarcophagi, which are part of Chachapoyas pre-inca culture; they are made of stone, wood and clay, and have an anthropomorphic shape; they are unique for their enormous size (up to 2, 5 meters high) and careful elaboration. Even though time has passed, being on top of a cliff with difficult access has allowed these constructions to be well preserved. We will go back to have lunch in the city of Luya. Then, we will visit Caverns Quiocta, a capricious work of nature, located in the district of Lamud, Luya province. Inside these caverns, there are seven rooms with stalagmites and stalactites; each one has a different name due to its curious forms. Return to the city of Chachapoyas.

DAY 09: CHACHAPOYAS – JAEN – LIMA.

At 7:00 am transfer to Jaen airport to the flight.

Am: Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to the hotel.
