Salkantay Trek To Machupicchu 5 Days 4 Night

This is a magnificent alternative of the Inka Trail, is an attractive trek organized for trekkers who want enjoy spectacular views similar to the Inka Trail. The difference is that this rout is new and there aren't many visitors. In this trek you can see changing landscapes; we will see ecosystems transform rapidly, beautiful snow capped mountains (4800 m.a.s.l.). You will also see landscapes of tropical forest. This is a very special trek because at the end you will visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World - Machupicchu.

Itinerary.

Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa

Early in the morning at 4:30 am. we will pick you up at your hotel and we'll travel by bus to Mollepata. We'll arrive at 8:00 am. We'll pass through picturesque and traditional villages. Also we'll see highland plateaus and landscapes with great views. At Silcakancha we will have lunch. After that we will continue the hike and descend to Soraypampa to the campsite.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Chaullay

Today we'll begin to walk early, now we need more effort, because we have to climb to the Salkantay Pass ( 4600 m.a.s.l.) we will walk through a beautiful valley below the majestic snow capped mountain of Salkantay . After that we will continue to Chaullay, our campsite.

Day 3: Chaullay - Santa Teresa

After the breakfast we'll continue the trek, today we will see different plants as orchids, coffee, coca leaves plantations, fruits, we'll walk through different ecosystems observing birdlife including hummingbirds, finches, tanagers, sparrows, guans, parrots, etc. We will also see the people who live in harmony with nature. We will pass trough large waterfalls. The campsite is at Santa Teresa.

Day 4: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes

We will continue the trek and we'll climb up to Llactapata Pass from where we will see the lovely sight of Machupicchu, after that we'll descend to the Aobamba Valley and we'll pass for the hydroelectric plant and continue to Aguas Calientes Town. In the afternoon you can take a bath in the natural hot springs, which is a great place to relax after this challenging trek. Accommodation in a Hostal.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes - Machupicchu - Cusco

After the breakfast we will continue towards Machupicchu to see the sunrise there. We will have the whole morning to relax and explore. Our guide will explain you about the wonders of this majestic place. Later in the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and take the bus to Cusco. Transfer to your Hotel.
